Participants attend all three, 8-hour Saturday sessions: April 23, April 30 and May 7, 2016
LOSH, in collaboration with Los Angeles Trade Technical College (LATTC) Labor Center, will offer a 24-hour Specialist Training course on Worker Safety & Health and Leadership development. This course is for staff and worker leaders of unions, worker centers, and community organizations.
Participants learn:
→How to identify and control a full range of hazards and unsafe working conditions;
→How to recognize elements of an Illness and Injury Prevention Program, Cal/OSHA’s IIPP;
→Methods to conduct root cause analysis and develop strategies to take successful action;
→How to communicate effectively about health and safety with employers and supervisors;
→Ways to participate in effective health and safety committees; and
→How to work effectively with Cal/OSHA and Workers’ Compensation Resources.
