Karen Murray has been the LOSH Office and Events Manager for the last 11 of the 27 years she has been with UCLA. She possesses the blend of skills needed to assure the smooth operation of the office and coordination of special projects and program-wide events.
Ms. Murray oversees the LOSH website, newsletter and Facebook page. She provides support to the HAZWOPER training program, oversees the LOSH library, and coordinates production of materials and promotional items for tabling events. She is the primary liaison between UCLA-LOSH and vendors and is skilled with negotiating for venues and guest accommodations.
Previously, Ms. Murray spent 15 years with the UCLA Library Administration and Human Resources where she provided executive level administrative support to both the Director and Assistant Director of Library Human Resources. As primary support for Learning and Development, she was responsible for event planning, coordinating workshops, training classes, new employee orientations as well as providing logistical support to other units requiring assistance, and overseeing the staff on-line newsletter. Additionally she was trained by UCLA’s Environmental Health and Safety Department and served on the Library Ergonomic Team, conducting workstation evaluations. Outside of work Ms. Murray spends many hours volunteering for community service.
