Tamar Galindo

Tamar Galindo is the WRUC Program Manager at LOSH. Tamar earned her Master of Public Health degree in Environmental Health Sciences at UCLA and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA).

Prior to joining LOSH, Tamar worked as a Research Coordinator at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. There, she coordinated USC’s LEON study as part of the Multi-Omics for Health and Disease (MOHD) consortium. Additionally, she was an integral part of the Community Engagement Core team of the Southern California Superfund Research and Training Program for PFAS Assessment, Remediation and Prevention (ShARP) Center at USC.

Tamar’s personal and professional interests lie at the intersection of community, environment, health, and justice. She is passionate about translational science and amplifying community voices and their lived experiences (including those of workers) into spaces that lead to policy, systems, and environmental changes.

Outside of work, Tamar enjoys basketball, reading, crafting, and spending time with her family and community.
