Gabino Abarca

Gabino Abarca is a graduate student researcher at LOSH and a doctoral student in the Department of Community Health Sciences. His work is influenced strongly by his personal background as a son of immigrant farmworkers. Growing up working alongside his parents, Gabino was aware of the poor working conditions and occupational hazards that affected workers’ health. He hopes to use his training to engage in work that will help improve the health of Latinos in the US.

Outside of work, Gabino enjoys watching sports and spending quality time with family. He earned his bachelor’s degree in public health and master’s in public health in health services from the University of Washington, Seattle.
