Gabino Abarca is a Graduate Student Researcher at LOSH who helps with various projects, including the evaluation of the Western Region Universities Consortium (WRUC) training and a manuscript for the UC Climate Action Research project.

Gabino is a Doctoral Candidate at the Fielding School of Public Health, pursuing a degree in the Community Health Sciences department. He hopes to continue his career as a researcher, focusing on worker safety across all fields. As a son of farmworkers, occupational safety and worker health are issues Gabino thinks about daily in his work and have motivated him to pursue graduate studies.

Outside of work, Gabino enjoys spending time with family, listening to music, and cooking.
