Sandra Garcia

Sandra Garcia is a Graduate Student Researcher at LOSH. Sandra is currently assisting with a project investigating the impacts of silicosis (a respiratory condition) on Latino men in the Los Angeles area.

Sandra is a Ph.D. student within the Community Health Sciences department focusing on labor research and policy. She hopes to transition into a role within the labor research field at either a union or research institute upon graduation.

She believes occupational safety and health is a means of prioritizing people over profit. It means building a culture that strives to create an equitable and just work environment for the most vulnerable that also uplifts an entire workforce.

Outside of work, Sandra enjoys running as part of the Compton Run Club, going to the movie theater, spending time with family and friends, and discovering new food in Los Angeles.
