Matt Gray Brush
Matt Gray Brush is a Project Coordinator at LOSH. His primary role involves overseeing and supporting workers in the Public Health Councils Initiative. In collaboration with partners at SoCal COSH, Matt provides training and educational materials to workers across Los Angeles County about workplace health and safety. Now supporting ten different work sectors across LA, the program continues to expand and reach new workers who hold crucial roles in California’s economy.
Matt holds diverse experience in public health, community education, and social change. Service roles that have shaped his career include serving as a COVID-19 Outbreak Investigator, a Certified Family Planning Health Worker, and a youth health educator. Matt believes education is a pathway toward liberation and a future that is accessible, inclusive, and affirming to all. He feels most fulfilled when his work establishes connections across diverse communities to address systemic inequalities.
Matt earned his BA from the University of Connecticut in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies & Human Rights. He received his MPH in Community Health Sciences from UCLA, with a specialization in Health Education and Promotion.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time making art, enjoying nature, and networking with other queer & trans people. He lives with his partner and two rambunctious cats.
