Diego Flores

Diego Flores is a Program Specialist at LOSH where he studies the impacts of indoor heat in low wage industries through mixed methods research. He is currently assisting with a LOSH pilot project to support worker engagement in implementation of California’s recent Indoor Heat Standard in collaboration with SoCalCOSH and the UCLA Heat Lab, where he shares a dual appointment. He will also assist with the tracking of OSHA violations data.

Prior to his appointment with LOSH, Diego carried out a Fulbright Garcia-Robles Fellowship where he taught English at Mexico’s national university and researched trends in violence from the Mexican war on drugs from a quantitative perspective. With over four years of research experience, he is particularly interested in applying rigorous mixed-methods approaches to study critical social phenomena, aiming to inform community organizations and strengthen broader justice movements.

Diego is driven by a commitment to social and economic justice, particularly in advocating for working class communities. He strives to lead a career in research that informs and strengthens worker rights movements.

Diego holds a B.A. in Political Science from Pitzer College. In his free time, he enjoys creating art through mixed-media, reading, and staying active through various sports.
