Jonathan Penate Salazar
Jonathan Penate Salazar is a LOSH Project Coordinator specializing in employment law. He is currently leading LOSH’s efforts under the following statewide projects: the California Workplace Outreach Project funded through the California Department of Industrial Relations, the School Action for Safety and Health Program funded through the Commission on Health and Safety and Workers Compensation, and the Young Worker Leadership Academy hosted in collaboration with partners at the Labor Occupational Health Program.
Before coming to LOSH, Jonathan worked on wage claims for low-wage workers at Bet Tzedek Legal Services. He is particularly interested in increasing access to the claims processes available at the Department of Industrial Relations for high-risk worker communities.
Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys playing Sunday league soccer.
Jonathan obtained his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. He also has B.A. degrees in Political Science and Philosophy from UCLA.
