David Diaz
David Diaz is the HAZWOPER Program Specialist at LOSH. He provides logistical and field support for LOSH’s Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) worker training program. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental and Occupational Health with a minor in GIS from California State University, Northridge (CSUN).
Growing up in an environmentally impacted area, he is familiar with injustices across many different sectors. His firsthand experience with environmental justice led him to youth organizing, where he worked with young people in the community to address environmental injustices. He brings over three years of grassroots organizing experience to LOSH and is committed to uplifting the knowledge our communities hold to tackle workplace health and safety issues. He honors the power that comes from our communities and strives to advocate for workplace justice and equity.
Outside of work, David enjoys reconnecting with nature, being with his community, and exploring LA.
