Karen Lau
Karen Lau is a Visiting Graduate Researcher at LOSH who is on academic exchange and supports research initiatives at LOSH.
Karen is a second-year PhD candidate at St. George’s, University of London, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her research focuses on estimating the burden of health of labor exploitation in migrant workers. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she aspires to be an applied social epidemiologist in bridging research and practice to reduce health inequities. Along this line, occupational safety and health means preventing avoidable injuries and illnesses, particularly among disadvantaged populations, and ensuring decent work as a right for all.
Outside of work, Karen enjoys running, hiking, tennis, reading, and DnB (drum and bass).
